Emil M. Cioran was born in 1911 to Emilian, a Romanian Orthodox priest, and his anguished wife, Elvira in a Rasinari, a small idyllic Transylvanian town Emile remembered fondly throughout his life. Cioran's family, comprised of an older sister, Virginia, and younger brother Aurel, was one of the wealthiest and most prestigious in the small town and had a long tradition of priests. |
